Have you thought about a totally different colour? White is the traditional colour of course, but what about green, or red?
So where should you buy your dress?
There are so many possibilities when it comes to choosing and buying your dress, but there are also a few places that might not spring to mind at first. Of course there are lots of great bridal wear shops on the high street, many independent shops and boutiques and lots of major shops such as John Lewis, Marks and Spencer and Debenhams will have their own specialist teams dedicated to all things dressy!
But what if you are looking for some thing a little more vintage, or designer, or quirky or something cheaper?
So lets look at vintage and quirky……..
There is an increasing number of brides looking for bespoke, old-school, classic designs and this is where vintage shops come in really handy. Many cities, such as London and Oxford, have great shops for this and often get pre worn or B-stock dresses in that might just fit the bill. The other amazing place to look is the worlds’ favourite market place, eBay!
eBay might not be the place you would think to find the perfect dress, but designer brands, custom makes and top quality dresses are all there, and often at greatly reduced prices to the equivalent in store. This is also a fantastic place to look at pre-worn dresses, which might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if the dress is right, it’s right!
If money is no object, however, then seek out a bespoke custom made dress and have it created for you! There are some incredible dresses that can be made, just take at our instagram for some amazing custom designs!
Another great place for inspiration would be to visit a wedding fair or two! Most wedding fairs will have a catwalk and a fashion show ranging from to two to four per day, spread out over the course of the event.
However, it is worth checking before you go as some wedding fairs won’t have the facilities for a show. This may be the case for the smaller, more local fairs. The larger fairs that last the course of a weekend will almost certainly have a catwalk and several shows per day.
We hope that this blog has been helpful and has pointed you in a few good directions towards buying your perfect dress, and if nothing else has given you some pretty pictures to look at and a good distraction during your lunch break!
